Plan integral de señalización y semaforización vial del Cantón Guano, Provincia de Chimborazo, durante el periodo Octubre 2015 a Octubre 2016

Abstract

The present research has as objective to propose a Comprehensive Plan of Roadside Signaling and Placement of Traffic lights system, which ensures the vehicle and pedestrian safety traffic in the Canton as part of the powers granted to Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Guano Canton. A plan focused on the implementation of vertical signaling in particular signals of preventive, regulatory and informational type was designed. Its implementation is based on faithful regulatory compliance with standards established by the Ecuadorian Institute for Standardization (EIS). The horizontal signaling is fastened to the same standard in which defined the fundamental principles for road demarcation, understood as road demarcation to horizontal, cross-cutting signs, logos and legends on the road that guide the driver in its transfer from a point of origin to another named destination. The approach regarding the location of traffic lights is due to the growing affluence vehicles in the central part of the Guano Canton, where the conflict between vehicles and pedestrians is considerable, need urgently the implementation of a controller element of transit that coordinate the right use of road at a particular intersection. This research recommended considering the diagnosis made during the process of collecting information for the implementation of road signaling, then to know the real need for communities and establish a number of horizontal and vertical signaling required for Canton, giving faithful follow-up to the implementation and maintenance activities according to the standard established.
