Tipificación de los espacios turísticos del cantón Morona, provincia de Morona Santiago.

Abstract

The objective of this research work was to typify the tourist areas of Morona canton, Morona Santiago province. For this purpose, it was collected information about the current and complementary tourism offerings. There are tourist attractions, food services, lodging, and tourist transportation in the Morona canton. The information obtained was validated by visiting each of the sites and comparing whether there have been any changes in the different components of the tourism offer. Subsequently, the geographic points were taken by GPS, and the information was used to generate maps showing the distribution of tourist services and attractions within the Morona canton. In addition, Roberto Boullón's methodology and the Ministry of Tourism were used to define whether the canton is a Tourism Zone or Area. Once the work was done, the result was that the canton has 71 tourist attractions, 90% of the tourist services are in the cabecera Cantonal of Macas based on the mentioned methodology reflected that the canton has 1 Tourist Center. It is concluded that Morona canton is defined as a tourism Area. It is recommended that tourism-related actors in the public and private sectors work together to improve signage and marketing to become a tourist destination.
