Despistaje de Toxocara canis y Toxocara catis por el método de Elisa en los niños de la Escuela de Educación Básica “García Moreno”, parroquia rural San José del Batán provincia de Chimborazo.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the presence of antibodies for Toxocara canis and IgM catis by the Elisa method in children of the Basic Education School "García Moreno", rural parish San José de Batán, Chimborazo Province, this research is performed with 200 children, of which 137 were authorized to their parents, immunological blood tests were performed on 60 children because they are more in contact with their pets, to perform the ELISA test in search of anti-toxocara antibodies, applied a survey to the parents of the children to know the risk factors for toxocariasis, 60 samples of feces were collected from dogs, cats and their owners that were taken to the clinical laboratory of the School of Sciences of ESPOCH, in search of parasite of the Toxocara genus. After knowing the results, they were oriented statistically to establish the relationship between cats and cats that had Toxocara in the stool sample and the presence of anti-toxocara antibodies in children. The results showed that 50% of the dogs and 50% of the cats, had the parasite, Toxocara in their organism, in the ELISA test, carried out in the 60 children, antibodies were found, anti-toxocara, canis in 15 children (25%) and antibodies to Toxocara catis in 3 children (5%), the relationship between the presence of Toxocara in dogs and cats with the children owners of the pets is established, concluding that 18 positive tests were found for Toxocara, this evidence a zoonosis among children and their pets. It is recommended to take good personal hygiene practices (BPHP) and socialize their families.
