Propuesta de intervención educativa sobre VIH/SIDA a los adolescentes del colegio “Amelia Gallegos Diaz”.Riobamba. Provincia de Chimborazo 2010

Abstract

The educational proposal was created at the Amelia Gallegos Diaz High School in the city of Riobamba. The study ¡ncludes a survey of a population of thirty-five students in the third semester of section B, which are identified according to socio-demographics, sexual knowledge, and practices. 72% of the survey respondents were between the ages of 16 to 17, 28% were less than 15 years of age, and 63% female and 37% male. In addition, 62% of the respondents profess the catholic religión, 20% are evangelists, and the remainder pertain to other religions as christíans and Jehovah witnesses. 93% have reported knowledge of the spread of HIV/AIDS, 63% are familiar with those that are at risk of contracting the disease, 71% know the correct use of condoms, and 71% of the respondents affirm they do not know anyone who has contracted HIV/AIDS. 97% of the respondents indícate that young adolescents should not be sexually active, 100% report the ¡mportance of the correct use of condoms in sexual relations, and 91% indícate the predisposition to HIV/AIDS blood testing. Educational activíties have motivated students the médiums of protection against HIV/AIDS. The study group has demonstrated interest in the topics that were discussed during the development of the educational proposal. The training that occurred at the Amelia Gallegos High School resulted in knowing the pedagogical technical conditions that are needed to realize a series of activities orientated for the prevention of HIV/AIDS
