Evaluación de los índices reproductivas de tres períodos productivos (2019,2020,2021) en la ganadería de bovinos de leche “El Puente"

Abstract

The objective of this research was to evaluate the reproductive indexes from 2019 to 2021 in comparison with the years 2008 to 2018 in the dairy cattle ranch "El Puente". The development of this qualitative research was based on the compilation of data from the productive and reproductive records of the Jersey dairy herd of the farm, that is to say, no treatments with experimental units were applied; therefore, descriptive statistics were used, based on the calculation of percentages, averages and a systematic evaluation. The data obtained from the compilation were focused on the following statistical analysis: frequency distribution to categorize the animals according to the reproductive indexes and descriptive statistics where it was determined (mean, mode, standard deviation, minimum and maximum). Within the results obtained regarding the reproductive parameters 2019 to 2021 and in comparison with the years 2008 to 2018, there were no significant differences, the value of the reproductive costs of the "El Puente" cattle ranch were: cost of open day: $4.35; cost of pregnant cow: $528.10; cost of calf born: $377.10. The actions to improve the reproductive indexes are based on the most important one, which is calving-conception. It is concluded that if the interval between estrus is longer than 21 days, this leads to an increase in the reproductive indexes of the herd. It is recommended to make annual analyses of the behavior of reproductive parameters to contrast the results of the present research.
