Evaluación de cuatro sustratos para la propagación sexual de Cedrela odorata L. (Cedro) a nivel de vivero parroquia Cube provincia de Esmeraldas.

Abstract

This trial aimed to assess the seed of (cedar) Cedrela odorata L. in the different percentages of natural treatments plus control at the nursery level in the Cube parish, Esmeraldas Province, to help the forest species achieve a high rate of individuals and obtain a feasible reproduction. The seeds of (Cedro) Cedrela odorata L. were sown directly in the bags, and irrigation with water was carried out for the first 15 days every two days. After these days, irrigation was carried out every three days. The substrates that made up this research were sand, organic peat, and agricultural land. With a randomized complete block (DBCA) experimental design with three blocks where each block consists of 96 seeds, different percentages of substrate were applied in the first treatment, consisting of the application of only sand in the second treatment consisting of sand ( 20%), organic fertilizer (30%), soil (50%), in the third treatment with sand (25%), organic fertilizer (35%), soil (40%) and in the fourth treatment with sand (30% ), organic fertilizer (40%), soil (30%). This process was applied to evaluate the behavior of the seed against the different substrates used, where data were taken from height, diameter at neck height (CAD), and the number of sheets for 30, 60, and 90 days. As a result, the best substrate for seed germination was T4, composed of 30% sand, 40% organic peat, and 30% agricultural land. The measurement variables had favorable results with a height of 17.10 cm, DAC of 5.50 mm, and the number of leaves with 11 medians which are the results at 90 days of the investigation.
