Propuesta de un plan de mejoramiento al sistema de transporte de residuos sólidos en el Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado Municipal Intercultural Saquisilí.

Abstract

The main objective was to propose an improvement plan for the solid waste transportation system of the Saquisili canton, reason is why the research design has been focused on the descriptive type, where measurable and quantifiable processes have been proposed for the collection management that will improve the appreciation of the community. Considering the population according to INEC data, the project will benefit approximately 20,000 inhabitants considering that the canton is visited weekly by more than traders from all over the country, and tourists of various nationalities, so it is important to deepen the correct treatment of solid waste. This research has been led by Javier Velásquez Martínez, which is the authority in Saquisili. A deep analysis of the current management is initiated to generate an improvement plan through the application of mathematical techniques and algorithms to define the places in which the containers should be placed proportionally, then with the use of equations and optimization methods, new routes can be suggested that will allow the collection of vehicles in less time and using fewer resources, which together with the implementation of indicators will allow the project to have a continuous improvement according to the new demands of the population. Currently, in the canton of Saquisili and the Cotopaxi province, there is no research about transportation. Therefore, this research according to the technical study will provide the precedent to comprehensively improve mobility problems within the canton and the province. So, it is recommended to execute this study, which has the feasibility and viability of the case. As this is a competence of the municipal authorities, the creation of a position within the city council should be analyzed, which allows us to follow up on the multiple challenges offered by transportation management.
