Diseño de un centro interpretativo del capulí (Prunus serotine) para el cantón Penipe, provincia de Chimborazo.

Abstract

This research aimed to design an interpretive center of the capulí for the city of Penipe, province of Chimborazo. First, it was established the state of the art of the capulí (prunus serotine) through the review and analysis of bibliographic documents. So, it was determined that the capulí (prunus serotine) belongs to the family of the Rosaceas, it is native to Mexico, it is considered a semi-domesticated species due to the scarce information, it is distributed along the inter-Andean alley, it is a long-lived tree from which multiple uses are obtained, all its parts can be used for food, industry, or traditional medicine. The next phase consists of the formulation of the conceptual and technical design of the interpretive scepter where the philosophical and strategic approach, content selection through topics, themes, and messages were carried out. It was determined that it has a high interpretive potential with adequate features. The infrastructure of the interpretive center consists of a reception, bathrooms and four rooms for interpretation. The last phase consists of establishing interpretive strategies through the identification, design, and distribution of 17 interpretive means, creation of a corporate image, and the design of an interpretive script which will be used by the interpreter guide for the explanation that he will carry out during the tour of the interpretive center. It was concluded that this interpretive center will contribute to providing information and therefore to generate awareness, value and protect this species that has great social and cultural importance. Thus, it was recommended further research on this species and disseminating the results obtained with the community.
