Abstract

The objective of this research work was to study the productive behavior of laying birds in housing systems at floor and cage level. The search for bibliographic information was based on the collection of information from scientific articles, consulting the following scientific platforms: Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed and Dialnet. Articles were reviewed with the topics of productive behavior in laying birds (21-60 weeks of age) in different housing systems: Regarding the management of laying hens housed on the floor, it is known that they should grow in chicken coops that allow adjustments in the lighting program, this is important to allow the birds to maintain their laying physiology, it is also known that hens housed in cages require special handling in conditions of comfort and nutrition, since this can be a factor in the reduction of production . To know the efficiency of the housing systems, several authors were investigated where the study variables were: feed consumption, feed conversion, egg weight, percentage of laying and mortality. Within the productive variables studied in comparison between cage and floor, the one with the best results was cage accommodation with an average daily consumption of 113.17 g per hen, feed conversion of 2.26 and laying percentage of 87.4%. , average egg weight 56.36g and mortality of 3.7%. It is concluded that the use of housing in cages is an option highly improving egg production. Finally, it is advisable to keep laying birds in cages, since this system ensures greater productivity.
