Comprobación del Efecto Hipoglucemiante del Sumo del Fruto de Noni (Morinda citrifolia), en Ratas (Rattus novergicus) con Hiperglicemia Inducida

Abstract

The objective oFthis work was knowing about he Hypoglycemic Effect of the Noni Fruit (AL cirrifolia) in rats (R. novergicus) with induced hypoglycemia. For this, six groups of rats were used representing the groups: control, positive control, negative control, A, B and group C. The hyperglycemia was induced to all groups except for the control through the ingestion of glucose at 35% during 20 days. The treatment consisted of administeing the hypoglycemic Metformine chlorohydrate to the positive control while to the groups A, B and C juice dosages at 20%, 40% and 60% respectively. The results showed that the control presented normal glycemias (60 to 90 mg/dL); the negative had the pathology and kept hyperglycemia; the positive one stabilized the glycemia to values near the normal ones at 24 hours and at the end of the treatment reduced to the initial values; the dosage of 20% diminished the glycemia to values near the normal maximum; the 40% dosage to normal values near to the initial ones and the 60% dosage to initial values. It was concluded that the juice dosages presented the Hypoglycemic Efect; but it is recommended to use it as prevention before the treatment because it can increase glycemia afer ingestion. The investigation was widened with the study of Acute Toxicity in Repeated Dosage administering the juice at 100% and observing at an anatomopathological macroscopic level the presence of sores in the gastric cpithelium, liver darkening and surface striations.
