Propiedades físicas de la fibra de vicuña (Vicugna vicugna) en Perú y Bolivia.

Abstract

Thais bibliographic review project aimed to compare the physical properties of vicuña fiber (Vicugna vicugna) in Perú and Bolivia. The search for information was supported by bibliographic databases such as SciELO, Scopus, Academia.edu, E-book, experimental theses and scientific articles and websites. The variables were the physical properties of the vicuña fiber such as: Diameter (μ), Fineness (μ), Curvature Index (º / mm), Length (cm) and Comfort (%). The analyzes of the physical properties reported the following results: sex, age, body sample and technical handling of the animals. The largest diameter was reported in Peru where 15.06μ was obtained and in Bolivia 13.75μ. The fineness of the vicuña fiber was in Peru with 14.8μ and in Bolivia with 11.82μ. The curvature index is only reported in Peru obtaining 92.55º / mm. The fiber length recorded in Peru was 4.5cm and 2.85cm in Bolivia emphasized that the habitat and the feeding caused variation in the size. The comfort of the vicuña fiber was 99.34% considering a totally comfortable fiber. The price of vicuña fiber ranges about 350 to 750 dollars and depends on the degree of handling that the hair was subjected to. The main countries that import this fiber from Peru and Bolivia are: Italy, England, China, Japan, Argentina, United States, Germany and Chile. In addition, Italy is the main beneficiary of vicuña fiber with a percentage of acquisition of more than 95%. All the researched results are valid to apply in similar investigations in Ecuador.
