Determinación de las especies faunísticas de macroinvertebrados del río Jurumbaino ubicado en el cantón Morona, parroquia Macas

Abstract

The objective of this work was to determine the macroinvertebrate fauna species that inhabit in the Jurumbaino river from Macas parish. Therefore, a stretch from Jurumbaino river (5km) was delimited, in which three monitoring points were located. A total of 18 samples were collected, nine to the physical-chemical analysis and nine to the determination of the fauna species. The macroinvertebrates were captured using Surber nets with an area equal to 400 cm2 and Screen nets of 900 cm2. Both nets have a 2mm mesh eye. The specimens were classified according to the family that belongs. Obtaining the water quality was done using the BMWP/Col method. The study was complemented with a physical-chemical analysis of the conditions of the environment using the ICA- NSF. A total of 65 specimens were found divided into eight orders and fifteen families, all of them belonging to the Insecta class: Gerridae with 21 individuals, Eustheniidae with 10 and Baetidae with 8. 60% of the total individuals found were covered. The BMWP/Col Index ranked the waters at point 1 Doubtful (51), point 2 Acceptable (78) and point 3 Critical (32). The ICA-NSF to the entire sampling section was classified as Regular (50-70). It is recommended to the future research to extend the monitoring period and the study section.
